Gulls exit Playoffs
Mon, 10-Mar-08 · In the Bantam B SCAHA Playoffs in Oxnard, the Gulls lost the opening game 5-2 to the Pasadena Maple Leafs. The game was much closer than the score looks with the Leafs scoring an empty net goal. The Gulls were overmatched in game two with the Oxnard Riptide running away with a 9-1 win.
Game three was a thrilling 2-2 tie against the Ventura Mariners. The Gulls scored what appeared to be the game winner at the end of the third period. But the goal was negated by a quick whistle when the ref got hit in the face with a high stick. The Gulls season series with the Mariners ended 0-0-3.
Gulls top SDIA 4-3
Mon, 03-Mar-08 · Two weeks ago the Bantam B Gulls played in an A tournament in Santa Rosa. Despite losing all 4 games, the Gulls learned a lot against stiffer competition.
Last week, the Gulls beat the Ontario Eagles 4-2 in a game where they led from start to finish.
Yesterday, the Gulls beat the SDIA Oilers after falling behind 2-0 in the first period. Two quick goals by the Gulls tied the game in the second period. After trailing 3-2, the Gulls rallied for two unanswered goals to secure a 4-3 win.
We are the 6th seed in the SCAHA playoffs next week in Oxnard.
Express beats Gulls 5-1
Sun, 03-Feb-08 · Yesterday, the undefeated Valencia Express beat the Bantam B Gulls 5-1. In the upcoming weekend, the Gulls will travel to Santa Rosa to play in the 2008 Wine Country Face-Off. The Express are also playing in the Santa Rosa tournament, so it should be a great test for the Gulls as we prepare for the SCAHA playoffs.
Gulls top Wolves 5-4
Sun, 03-Feb-08 · The Bantam B Gulls secured a SCAHA playoff berth with a 5-4 road win over the West Valley Wolves. In a game where they never trailed, the Gulls built a 5-2 lead. However, the Wolves battled back to make it close in the end.
